Playful art
Play-on is a playful, poetic exploration of children’s games and modularity. Nothing is fixed, everything is in motion. The project invites us to discover, experiment and freely assemble an infinite number of possible combinations. Inspired by educational games, Play-on celebrates simple and elementary shapes as starting points for creating unexpected networks and surprising structures. The idea is to recapture the creative impulse of childhood: learning by playing, building by deconstructing, diverting uses. Each module can be combined, nested and diverted – in the manner of a great Tetris – to compose unique, sculptural objects. Play-on offers an open-minded, no-holds-barred approach to design, allowing you to invent your own rules of the game. It’s a way of desacralizing the object and turning it into an infinite playground.
This work comes to life in close collaboration with a cabinetmaker, combining traditional know-how with a contemporary approach.
