“ALLEGORY OF THE LOOM,” exhibition design for Maison Pierre Frey.
Breaking with conventional presentations, the outdoor installation is part of a situationist, almost manifesto-like staging. Conceived as a paper showcase, it evokes a blank page from which colored threads emerge, at the very moment of creation. Three suspended fabric panels reinterpret the loom in a contemporary style and highlight the house’s artisanal expertise. The ensemble remains deliberately at the conceptual stage, the prototype, leaving room for imagination and personalization. In this setting, the furniture designed by Garnier & Linker fits in seamlessly, supported by a central wooden base that interacts with the fabrics, its rounded forms extending this relationship between material and form.
Artistic director, designer, ceramist… Johanna de Clisson cultivates a world of great simplicity, understated, almost silent, dominated by white.
